Naoyuki Onda showed his talent as a keyboardist already while attending high school and took on a career as a professional musician during his college years. He is presently active as a pianist, composer and arranger and produces work for pop artists.
He has recorded four albums with us at PACIFIC MOON RECORDS including the "Ancient City". As a solo album, this is his first. In this work, he recorded with guest artists, the two Chinese traditional instrument players, JIA PENG-FANG, the number one niko player and the other, CHANG WEI WEI, the top percussion instrument player. Participating from Japan were Mizuyo Komiya, asou (Japanese harp) player and Yukihiko Mitsuka, a shakuhachi players who are top artists in their own fields as well.
When you listen to all these ten recorded pieces, the elements of the oriental and western music are so beautifully blended, you get automatically pulled into the world of sounds. The world he creates is neither Japanese or Chinese, but perhaps more of a utopia from within his heart. And this maybe the same homeland everyone has in his heart. Listening to the slow and easy piano and the notes of the flowing oriental instruments made me think such thoughts. What he does which is everything from composition of the songs to arrangement and playing of the piano and synthesizer shows he's richly talented and that he has a good sense for music. Why don't we just simply say, this is truly a representative work of an "Oriental AOR album"? I'd like to say here is some one
whose work we can look really forward to in the future.
